Ceramic Honing Rod review

Quick background on me: been working kitchens for just over 10 years now. Started learning hand sharpening knives in 2017; through trial, error, reading, feedback and honest chef criticism I became quite decent.

If I witness a chef use a diamond rod on a knife, especially on one of Japanese craftsmanship - I will encourage them to stop, politely offer my advice, and also encourage them to purchase a ceramic rod to hone their edge.

The ceramic rod will do a decent job of removing material off the edge without damaging the edge or rather removing material too aggressively.

I highly recommend the ceramic rod as an absolute staple for any professional chef's or serious cook's kit.
